Personnel changes in the Office of Research

The CAHNRS Office of Research has made three important position changes in the first half 2015. We have hired a new associate director of the Agricultural Research Center and to provide greater service to faculty we are updating the positions opened after the retirement this spring of Tom Kelly and Kristin Peters.

Tom Kelly managed intellectual property with a focus on plant varieties. This position has been broadened to include responsibilities for all intellectual property development by CAHNRS faculty, with an emphasis on outreach to provide greater faculty support for IP development. We are currently interviewing for the position and hope to have it filled by the end of the summer.

Based on recommendations from the Competitiveness Task force, the position previously held by Kirsten Peters has also been revised. The position will continue to carry primary responsibilities for large grant development, but it will also aim to increase grant writing skills for students, post-docs and early career faculty.
