Small Farm Program’s Summer Farm Walks

Join WSU’s Small Farm Program and Tilth Producers of Washington for a farm walk on Monday, July 27 at Perrault Farm in Yakima County. The walk is called Behind the brew: Organic hops production. It’s an opportunity to discuss certified organic hops production and research from a family that represents over 100 years and four generations of hop farming in the Yakima Valley.

National Association of Plant Breeders annual meeting

The National Association of Plant Breeders will hold their fifth annual meeting in Pullman from July 28-30.

The gathering lets private and public plant breeders and students learn about methods, technologies and practices, and includes field trips to WSU and ARS breeding sites.

Fruit, produce growers: meet buyers from Mexico, Asia

Washington fruit and vegetable growers can showcase their produce for buyers from Mexico, Central America and Southeast Asia during Produce Inbound Buying Missions hosted by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Meetings and site visits are July 20 and 21.

Grain Gathering

Join professional and home bakers, maltsters, brewers, distillers, community leaders, economists, educators, millers, farmers, wheat breeders, chefs, journalists, wood-oven builders, entrepreneurs, and food culturalists to the beautiful Skagit Valley for three days of workshops, panel discussions, and talks. Registration begins 11:30 am, August 20. Event runs August 20-22.
